Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of software solutions, as well as the integration into and modernization of current solutions, ensuring they meet business and technical needs.

  • Define and maintain architecture standards and best practices for scalable and maintainable systems, ensuring architectural solutions are secure, compliant, and able to scale with business growth.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship while collaborating with development teams to design, review, and implement system architecture, as well as working closely with DevOps to ensure proper deployment pipelines and infrastructure management.

  • Conduct architectural reviews of software solutions and provide recommendations for improvement.

  • Identify, document, and mitigate architectural risks.

  • Evaluate new technologies and tools, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

  • Contribute to the strategic vision for the organization’s technology roadmap.


Job requirements

Qualifications

  • Willingness to spearhead and lead integrations on EdgeX

  • Several years of professional experience in an architecture role as well as in technical leadership and mentoring of teams.

  • Expert knowledge in the design of scalable and resilient systems; this includes knowledge of event-driven architectures, microservices and technologies such as RabbitMQ, EdgeX Foundry and REST/Async APIs.

  • Experience with common development methods: DevSecOps, CI/CD, TDD.

  • Proficiency in one or more object-oriented programming languages (preferably Java, Spring Boot Framework).

  • Know-how in the areas of cloud, DevOps and security.

  • Ability to document solutions, ability to apply arc42, UML, and write comprehensive runbooks.

  • Strong hands-on mentality.

  • Business fluent written and spoken English language skills

  • Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate across teams

  • Knowledge of the access control domain is an advantage.

  • Knowledge of Hardware near integration is an advantage.
