In this role, you will be responsible for building and further developing a centralized Group Accounting function. The objective is to consolidate local accounting entities into a unified, efficient, and audit-ready finance organization. You will ensure that financial statements are prepared in accordance with HGB, while IFRS reporting is consistent, transparent, and delivered in a timely manner.

Your Responsibilities
Group Accounting Leadership & Target Operating Model
Lead and develop the Group Accounting function, both functionally and disciplinarily
Define and implement a group-wide operating model (structures, responsibilities, collaboration with local teams)
Drive the transformation from decentralized accounting units towards a centralized organization
Closings & Reporting (HGB + IFRS)
Overall responsibility for monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes across the Group
Ensure the preparation of financial statements in accordance with HGB and the delivery of IFRS reporting
Coordinate annual audits and act as the key contact for external auditors
Ensure high data quality and consistent reporting standards across the Group
Accounting Policies, Governance & Internal Controls
Develop and further enhance group-wide accounting policies (IFRS)
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and legal requirements
Establish and improve internal control systems and governance structures within accounting
Tax & Tax Compliance
Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations and reporting requirements across the Group in close collaboration with local finance teams, tax advisors, and authorities.
Coordinate and monitor group-wide tax processes, including corporate income tax, VAT, and transfer pricing matters.
Act as a key contact for tax-related topics impacting accounting, financial reporting, and corporate structures.
Support tax audits and tax authority reviews while coordinating external tax advisors.
Treasury
Oversee and further enhance cash management and payment processes
Take responsibility for bank reconciliations, account structures, and payment-related processes from an accounting perspective
Collaborate with banks and internal stakeholders on finance-related matters
Processes & Systems
Standardize and optimize closing and reporting processes
Further develop systems and tools within Group Accounting
Ensure efficient and scalable end-to-end processes
Job requirements
Key Qualifications
Professional Background
Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a comparable qualification
Several years of experience in an Audit firm (e.g. as a Senior Consultant in a BIG4 company), (Group) Accounting or Group Finance
Strong knowledge of HGB and IFRS
Experience working with external auditors
Strong understanding of processes, governance, and internal control systems
Languages
Business fluent English is essential in an international environment
Very good German language skills

Strong leadership skills and experience working with international teams
Hands-on mentality with the ability to actively drive transformation
